Synopsis:
The first rule of book club:
You don't talk about book club.

Nashville Legends second baseman Gavin Scott's marriage is in major league trouble. He’s recently discovered a humiliating secret: his wife Thea has always faked the Big O. When he loses his cool at the revelation, it’s the final straw on their already strained relationship. Thea asks for a divorce, and Gavin realizes he’s let his pride and fear get the better of him.

Welcome to the Bromance Book Club.

Distraught and desperate, Gavin finds help from an unlikely source: a secret romance book club made up of Nashville's top alpha men. With the help of their current read, a steamy Regency titled Courting the Countess, the guys coach Gavin on saving his marriage. But it'll take a lot more than flowery words and grand gestures for this hapless Romeo to find his inner hero and win back the trust of his wife.

Review:
Oh how I love a good second-chance romance!  Add in some laugh out loud moments and allow the hero to tell the story and I'm sold.  I wasn't surprised by the humor as other readers have alluded to that, but I was surprised by the depth of emotional turmoil portrayed in this book.  This story really tugged on my heartstrings.  Gavin discovers his wife of many years has been faking it in bed...yeah, quite an ego-buster.  He reacts badly and things between he and his wife Thea escalate into the land of no-return until they're soon carelessly tossing around the big D word - d.i.v.o.r.c.e.  Gavin doesn't know what to do, but he does know he loves his wife and wants her back.  Enter a group of his friends and co-workers with an invitation guaranteed to fix things - join their book club and learn what a woman really wants.  Huh?  The story that unfolds is funny, creative, and oh so emotional.

I'm so glad I took this journey via audio as listening to The Bromance Book Club breathed life into the characters.  I was pleasantly surprised to hear sections from a regency novel read aloud as Gavin studied the passages and heard them in his head.  The narrators did a terrific job, and I highly recommend the audiobook.  A brisk story pace propels the unique and well delivered plot forward.  I can't stress enough that in addition to the expected humor that'll have you snickering, there's deep, emotional turmoil, caused by issues faced by couples everywhere in the real world, unfolding in a realistic manner.  I enjoyed the developing support cast and hope to read their stories in future books.  The Bromance Book Club is a fantastic rom-com type story with feelings.  Highly recommended!
