Before Jamaica Lane Book Review

Synopsis:

One simple lesson in seduction between two friends can turn into so much more…

Despite her outgoing demeanor, Olivia is painfully insecure around the opposite sex—usually, she can’t get up the nerve to approach guys she’s interested in. But moving to Edinburgh has given her a new start, and, after she develops a crush on a sexy postgrad, she decides it’s time to push past her fears and go after what she wants.

Nate Sawyer is a gorgeous player who never commits, but to his close friends, he’s as loyal as they come. So when Olivia turns to him with her relationship woes, he offers to instruct her in the art of flirting and to help her become more sexually confident.

The friendly education in seduction soon grows into an intense and hot romance. But then Nate’s past and commitment issues rear their ugly heads, and Olivia is left broken-hearted. When Nate realizes he’s made the biggest mistake of his life, he will have to work harder than he ever has before to entice his best friend into falling back in love with him—or he may lose her forever…

My Review:

Before Jamaica Lane is sweet, hot, funny, erotic…a beautiful love story about friends, Nate and Olivia, and what happens when they take it a step past friendship.  It started out innocently enough, just friends laughing, talking, sharing secrets.  Somewhere along the way, they cross the line and can never go back.  Unfortunately, Nate can’t give Liv what she needs.  His heart belongs to a ghost, his first love…a girl he loved so deeply that he had the first letter of her name tattooed across his heart after she died at age 18.  After that, Nate became a love ‘em and leave ‘em guy, never making promises that he couldn’t keep…never giving his heart willingly to anyone.

Liv is a funny, friendly girl…unless she’s around a man she's attracted to, then she clams up.  She wants a man who will love her like she’s the only one, the love of his life.  One night, while drinking, Oliva gets up the nerve to ask Nate to help her - to teach her how to make a man want her.  He jumps at the chance to build Olivia’s confidence by teaching her to kiss, seduce, and love a man.  They cross the line of no return.  What happens is a bit predictable but very sexy, hot and romantic until Liv realizes that she can never be the love of Nate’s life…he’s already had & lost that.  He'll never return her feelings.  Can Liv settle for anything less?

I love a good friends to lovers story, and this is a great one...a fun, sexy romance.  What a great addition to the series.  A must read for fans of romance!

Rating:  4 beautiful ♥♥♥♥'s...And that's the truth!
